November 2015 CEO Update

November 2015 CEO Update. Some of you may have heard me speak about a very important meeting which occurred in New Jersey about six weeks ago to discuss the use of Ketamine for the treatment of chronic treatment resistant depression. This meeting included some of the most prestigious medical members from Mayo, Yale, the American Psychiatric Community, the Veterans Administration, health plan Medical Directors as well as two Ketamine providers and an outspoken Ketamine advocate.

The meeting consisted of a meta-analysis of all the research studies done to date including the National Institute of Mental Health. The result, as you all know, “Ketamine can dramatically reduce the symptoms of depression unlike any other medication on the market currently.” The concern remains long term side effects (which in almost four years of treatment we have had none), and standards of care.

Ketamine Wellness Centers has volunteered to partner with other treatment providers in various states to establish those standards to include the psychological testing, psychological support, in-treatment room standards and a standardization of follow up care with different monitoring tools and access to support.

I continue to be encouraged that Ketamine for the treatment of Depression and Pain will become a standard of care for those who suffer on a daily basis as opposed to a final option when all else has failed.

As we move into the holiday season I want to personally wish all of you a healthy and happy Thanksgiving.

Regards,
Kevin Nicholson, CEO
Ketamine Wellness Centers, Inc.
