Five Tips for the New Year on Managing Chronic Pain
We made it to 2021 everyone! This year, we carry newfound energy. Let’s make a plan for our chronic pain symptoms to be better controlled. Let’s make a plan to be present in our day to day lives. And let’s make a plan to be better than last year. We get a pass for 2020. It wasn’t an easy year for physical or mental health.
I’ve got a few tips for the new year to help you manage chronic pain symptoms in combination with our regular ketamine pain maintenance treatment plan.
1. Consistency, Consistency, Consistency
Keep to a consistent schedule for the new year. If anything, 2020 has taught us that structure is crucial. Listen to your body and pain symptoms and schedule your treatments accordingly.
2. Keep Moving
Finding some form of low impact physical activity that keeps your body moving and happy is vital. Some might find exercise such as stretching, yoga, and walking to be enjoyable. Staying active and keeping your body moving is the right direction towards maintaining your health.
3. Stay Present
Practice being present in the moment. No matter what you are feeling, once a day, take a moment to really think about what you are doing to process the emotions around you.
4. Supplemental Aids
Discuss additional supplements you can add to your daily regimen with your provider, like Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) and Magnesium. Here at KWC, we carry a wide range of products such as nutraceutical supplements and KetWell Therapy CBD products that are great compliments to add to your daily regimen and health.
5. Eat with a Focus on Nutrition
Lastly, eating well and putting an emphasis on nutrition is highly important. I don’t mean dieting, I mean focusing on taking in the vitamins and minerals that we miss out on when eating fast-food. “Let food be thy medicine.” If you do manage to lose weight, every pound lost is four pounds of pressure taken off your knees. That can definitely make some major headway with joint pain.
In the end, chronic pain isn’t simple and neither are its effective therapies. Taking a holistic approach, like outlined above, can improve your symptoms and your mental well-being. I hope everyone starts their 2021 with a kick and if you don’t, that is okay too. Your timeline is your own so move at your own pace with our motto of “Positive Vibes” for the new year.
